3 ABSU medical students die in auto crash

 

Three medical students of Abia State University Uturu (ABSU), Aba campus, died when the vehicle they traveling in was involved in a ghastly accident.

The students were said to have gone to Uturu from Aba to attend the induction of their senior colleagues and on their going back, were involved in an auto crash and three of them have been confirmed dead.

The accident which was confirmed by the Abia State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Fredric Ogiden, attributed the incident to over speeding

He said his men who rushed to the accident scene, alluded to the fact that as a result of over speeding, the Toyota Camry car, with six occupants, somersaulted three times.

It was gathered that the accident happened at the Okigwe axis of the Enugu- Umuahia Expressway, as the students were heading back to Aba after the induction ceremony.

An eye witness account said three of the students died on the spot, two were fatally wounded and one miraculously came out unhurt.

The bodies if the three dead students were deposited at the Federal Medical Center, Umuahia where medical personnel are battling to save the lives of the injured.
