China has imposed a sanction on Mike Pompeo, US secretary of state under President Donald Trump.
The Chinese authorities imposed the sanction hours after the curtain was drawn on the administration of Trump.
John Bolton, former national security adviser; Steve Banon, a former adviser of Trump; Peter Navarro, also a former aide of Trump, were among the 28 American nationals sanctioned by China.
Trump had earlier granted pardon to Banon.
