Kano Hisbah’s Facebook Page Hacked

The official Facebook page of the Kano State Hisbah Board has been hacked.

According to DailyTrust, Hackers took control of the page on Wednesday, posting inappropriate content to the platform.

With over 82,000 followers, the page has been compromised, leaving many users shocked and concerned.

Confirming the hack on Friday, Aminu Daurawa, Commander General of the Board, assured the public that they are working to resolve the issue.

“Kano State Hisbah Board is aware that its Facebook page has been hacked and inappropriate things are being shared. On behalf of the board, I call on people to help solve this problem,” Daurawa told newsmen.

He said the board’s ICT department is actively working to restore the page and is engaged in discussions with Meta to resolve the issue.

Sani Zailani, Head of ICT at the Hisbah Board, noted that the account had experienced previous hacks and that Meta has been contacted regarding the latest breach.

Zailani said Meta has pledged to resolve the issue within 48 hours.

The Kano Hisbah board is responsible for enforcing moral regulations in accordance with Islamic law in the state.

Their activities include confiscating and destroying alcoholic beverages, arresting unmarried couples in hotels, and prohibiting the use of mannequins in boutiques.
