Stop Fighting Over Akande’s Book, Guru Maharaj Ji Tells Yoruba Leaders

The founder of One love family, Satguru Maharaj ji, has cautioned Yoruba leaders to sheathe their swords over the recent book released by former interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande.

He spoke in Lagos on Sunday in response to the divergent reactions that Akande’s book, “My Participations” have generated.

Akande had in the book attacked several Yoruba leaders including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, leader of the pan-Yoruba sociopolitical group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, among others.

Adebanjo had last week replied to Akande, describing him as a liar and insisting his Lekki house which Akande claimed in his book was built for him by former Lagos Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was built by his resources.

But Satguru Maharaj ji who briefed newsmen ahead of his 74th birthday on Monday December 20, advised the Afenifere leader and other Yoruba leaders to sheath their swords and extend love to one another.

He said the disagreement among the Yoruba leaders is antithetical to the peace and progress of the Yoruba race.

“Even if Baba Akande said that Tinubu built his house, he should have said yes, in the name of peace. We cannot stand the stench anymore, to err is human, we don’t want any dividing tongue,” he said.

Speaking further, the spiritual leader decried the high level of insecurity in the country, calling for the strengthening of the nation’s policing system.

According to him, the recent 20 percent increment in salary of police officers is inadequate. He said the increase should have been 40 percent to motivate the officers and men of the force.

He equally spoke on other issues affecting the country, giving his own opinion.

“The recent 20% increase in Police earnings is not enough, it should be forty percent. The Nigerian Army too should be considered for 40% increase in their salaries. Use one oil well to cover it.”

“The President should also pay all outstanding arrears due to ASUU, Medical Doctors, Polytechnic Staff in all the federation.”
‘Mr. Open Southern borders’.

The Spiritual Leader also charged the President to “open the southern borders for business to commence as earnest to save many souls who have lost hope of not being able to pay for their house rent, shops, feed their families and paying for their children’s school fees and other forms of hardships being faced for this border closedown.”

He noted that the continued closure of the border is a dent in the image of the government, adding that “for whatever reasons, the Police, The Customs, The Internal Affairs, The Immigration, and of course, The Army are all there to make sure that illegal trafficking, smuggling and other allied border breakdown of law and are controlled.”

“Mr. President must realize that Nigerians are very lawful people and without means of living, no regular food, accommodation, shoes, pants, and dresses to wear, nobody well be able to walk and think straight.

“Also payments due to all retired members of the public and private service should be paid to them. The President should pay state retirees money from the State allocation direct and give the balance for the state.”
