Yahoo boy’ kills three in Delta auto crash

A Final-year student (Jenipher Ike) of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, and a 14-year-old SS1 student of Odiagbo Secondary School, Ogwashi-Uku, have reportedly been killed in an auto crash caused by a suspected Internet fraudster (Yahoo boy) in Aniocha South Local Council of Delta State.

The Guardian gathered that the incident, which happened Sunday evening, along Polytechnic Road, Ogwashi-Uku, also claimed the life of a third person.
An eyewitness said the suspect rammed into the three, and that the final-year student and the 14-year-old boy died on the spot, while the third victim, a female, was rushed to a hospital and was confirmed dead, yesterday morning.

“The boy (suspect) was driving a Lexus 350 ash coloured saloon along Polytechnic Road, a short distance from the school, and crushed three persons to death. The boy is among Yahoo boys in Ogwashi-Uku. People came to the scene and started beating him. They even wanted to kill him, before intervention by some persons who handed him over to the police. The deceased, one Jenipher, a HND Mass Communication final-year student of the polytechnic, had just finished her final exams and was currently writing her project,” the eyewitness said.

The Guardian also learned that the suspect is at the police station in Ogwashi-Uku. Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, but said only one person died.
