…..EyePencil: I’m invincible, too big for ₦5m bounty, make it ₦50m”
It is no longer news that a ₦5 million bounty has been placed on each of five major gunmen terrorizing Imo State from the Ezioha terror camp in Mbaitoli LGA, but two names stand out for their distinct and brutal roles in the escalating violence: the daredevil killer-kingpin known as “Eye Pencil” and his chief bomb-maker, “Spare Key.”
This development follows an intensified security crackdown on the Ezioha terror camp, a stronghold formerly under the command of the elusive “B44,” who has since gone dark under uncertain circumstancea.
Intelligence now points to Eye Pencil as the de facto commander, a man whose handsome, innocent face belies the heart of a ruthless executioner.
Eye Pencil, the Serial Killer
His real name is Chibueze Darlington Alameziem, a 33-year-old native of Amakohia Ubi in Owerri West LGA. Before he turned to a life of terror, he was a tricycle driver and mechanic. Now, he is the operational head of the Ezioha camp, a man who abandoned his own wife and children, bringing prostitutes to his forest hideout and commanding a reign of bloodshed in the Mbaitoli, Oguta, Njaba, and partly Owerri axis.
Trailing his name is a catalog of atrocities:
· EyePencil led the kidnapping and subsequent execution of retired General Richard Duru, after a ransom of over $50,000 was paid.
· He masterminded the brutal killing of policemen at Ogbaku.
· In a particularly heartless act, he personally executed an elderly community leader from Umuele who had in a village meeting, dared to speak out against the gang, shooting the old man point-blank in the head.
. He is also believed to be behind the attack and killing of a boutique owner in Orji, Owerri North. Some of the clothes from the boutique are said to have been spotted on his close lieutenants – Jubilat and Disaster.
What makes Eye Pencil especially dangerous is his brazen mockery of the law. In a social media video, he laughed off the ₦5 million bounty on his head.
“You want people to risk their lives for ₦5m trying to catch me? I’m worth far more than that,” he taunted. “Do you go after a mad dog with bare hands?” He challenged the authorities to raise the bounty to ₦50 or ₦100 million, even threatening to place a ₦10 million bounty and a plot of land on the head of whoever is behind the move against him.
Security analysts describe him as a “hero-figure” to naive youths in the camp, a cold-blooded killer whose influence is proliferating criminal ideologies.
Spare Key: The Heartless Bomb-Maker
If Eye Pencil is the face of the camp’s brutality, then Ihugba Nnamdi, aka “Spare Key,” is its deadly shield.
Hailing from Uba, Umuaka in Njaba LGA, Spare Key is the armourer and chief Improvised Explosive Device (IED) maker for the terror gang.
Spare-key attended a technical school (TESAC, Orlu) and proceeded to the Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri where he studied Electrical/Electronic Engineering. He is technically gifted but has channeled his talents purely into evil.
After a previous arrest for armed robbery, he joined the IPOB/ESN terror camp upon his release and has since become their most vital asset for defence.
Spare Key is the architect of the minefield that protects the Ezioha camp. Every access route is booby-trapped with his locally made but highly potent IEDs, making the camp nearly impregnable to security forces.
His bombs are not just for defense; they have been used in rampant detonations in public places in Umuaka, leading to the killing and maiming of several persons including women and children.
Known as a serial beater of his own mother, Spare Key’s heartlessness is matched only by his technical cunning. Without him, the terror camp would be left vulnerable and exposed.
The combined threat of Eye Pencil’s ruthless leadership and Spare Key’s bomb expertise makes them two of the most high-value targets in Imo State.
The bounty on their heads is a pointer to the clear and present danger they pose, not just to security forces, but to their immediate communities and larger society.
Consequently, the Imo state government and all arms of the security forces in the state have drawn a line, declaring that these men must be stopped, by any means necessary.
Without waiting for the gunmen to strike again and claim another victim, the security forces have taken the war to their camp. It is believed that it will only be a matter of time before the inevitable end comes for these nefarious gunmen.
