The Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Mrs Muheebat Dankaka has approached the National Assembly with a proposal to throw the sum of N144.8 million into miscellaneous expenses of the Commission.
Another expenses on the budget for the National Assembly to scrutinize are the provisions of N99,713,328 proposed for monitoring activities and follow up with the code 22021029.
While the Commission made the provision of about N100m for monitoring activities captured under the code 22021029 that may involve a lot of local travels, it also asked the National Assembly to approve the sum of another N93, 124,684 million for general travel and transport, Tribune Online, authoritatively reports.
The management of the Commission explains the way the N30,971,659 which it captured under the code of 2202101, which reads: “Local travels and transport: Training, “the split of the N93.1 million for the same purpose charged on the second part expenses of up to N62,152,728 for the same purpose referred to as “Local travels and transport: others”.
Lawmakers in both the Senate and House of Representatives particularly, the committees charged to oversight the Federal Character (FCC).
In the Senate, the Committee Chairman, Sen. Danjuma Tella La’ah, and his Vice-Chairman, Sen. Lawal Yahaya Gumau, both of whom would have a lot of questions for the management team of the commission, on these.
In the Federal House of Representatives, the committee of the federal character Commission is chaired by Hon. Abubakar Kusada and his deputy Chairman, Hon. Peter Makinde.
More expenditures that may draw the attention of lawmakers in the miscellaneous expenditure outside the curious of the almost N100m are the proposed expenditure of N5.1 for food, water, and kolanuts, sweets, and juice amongst others captured thus: “22021001 Refreshment and meals N5,179,05.”
Another under the miscellaneous package for the management of the commission to expend in the 2022 year, are the amount for a four-page proposal that can actually be merged into three pages.
It reads: “22021014 annual budget expenses and administration N2,910,250.”
