As calls for his resignation Deepens, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele has told reporters “there will be news” after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.
Emefiele had visited President Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Thursday after which he spoke to newsmen, laughing off the anxiety associated with his presidential ambition.
“There is no news but there will be news,” the apex ban Governor told news men.
Speaking on the anxiety created by his ambition, the central bank governor said: “Let them have a heart attack. It is good to have a heart attack. I am having a lot of fun.”
The governor of the apex bank has been under intense pressure since expression of interest and nomination forms of the ruling APC were picked on his behalf, triggering outrage as many called on him to step down.
