4 students drown at Elegushi beach in Lagos

Four students of Kuramo Senior College, Lekki reportedly drowned, yesterday, at Elegushi beach, Lagos.

It was gathered that nine students between the ages of 14 and 16, after collecting their results from school decided to go swimming at the beach.

A police source said it was in the process of swimming that four of the students got drowned and when the others saw what had happened three of them reportedly ran away leaving two others behind.

Meanwhile, some of the bodies have not yet been retrieved.

The police source said they were still trying to contact the parents of the deceased students.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson of Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said “four teenagers drowned at a Lagos beach today (Tuesday), after collecting their exam results in school.”
