Access Bank hints at ‘minimal’ service disruptions over planned system upgrade

Access Bank says it has rescheduled its system upgrade earlier slated for October 12, noting that customers may experience “minimal” service disruptions.

In a notice to customers on Wednesday, the bank said a new date for the system upgrade would be announced in the next few weeks.

“We value your feedback and truly appreciate your continued trust,” the bank said.

“We are pleased to inform you that our system upgrade earlier planned to start this weekend, October 12, 2024, has been rescheduled to start at a later date which will be communicated in the coming weeks.”

The bank said it is excited about the advantages the upcoming upgrade exercise would offer to customers.

“We will keep you updated as we progress,” the financial firm said.

“Your convenience is our priority, rest assured, we will ensure minimal disruption in our services.”

On September 29, Zenith Bank informed its customers via various channels that its app would be automatically updated to a new version on October 1.

Following the development, the bank’s customers took to X to complain about their inability to access the financial institution’s mobile app.

Last week, First Bank customers took to X to express frustration over their inability to access the bank’s mobile platform.

The bank, in response, issued a statement on October 1 apologising for the disruption and assuring customers that efforts were being made to resolve the issue.

On October 7, the bank provided updates and announced the full restoration of services on its mobile banking platform, Firstmobile, following a brief disruption caused by a recent upgrade of the application
