After 4 Hours, Voting Yet To Commence In Parts Of Ihiala

The supplementary governorship election in Anambra State is partly being affected by logistics as voting has not commenced in some parts of the state hours after polls were supposed to open.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had scheduled the exercise for 10am to 4pm but as of 2pm, electoral materials had not arrived some polling units.

At mid-day ad-hoc INEC officials were seen at the Ihiala Local Government secretariat struggling to convey materials meant for their polling stations.

The governorship election was declared inconclusive because no ballot was cast at Ihiala, which has over 140,000 registered voters.

Meanwhile, Daily Trust observed a low turnout of voters in some of the polling stations visited.

There was no crowd at St. Augustine College Mbosi ward 20, comprising 14 polling units when Daily Trust visited.
