Again, another traditional ruler kidnapped in Kaduna

Two weeks after the release of Emir of Kajuru, Alhassan Adamu, the paramount ruler of Jaba chiefdom in Kaduna State, Gyet Maude, has been abducted by bandits.

It was gathered that the Monarch was kidnapped on his farm, on Monday.

One of his brothers, Anthony Maude confirmed the abduction of the traditional ruler to newsmen in an interview.


He said: “It is true our royal father, a very old man who is over 80 years old and one of the longest-serving traditional rulers in the state had been kidnapped this morning in his farm at Gitata community of Nasarawa State.

The farm, it was gathered, was located at a border town between Kaduna and Nasarawa states.

However, as at the time of filing the report, it was not clear whether he was alone on the farm or he was together with his security details when the incident happened.

When contacted, the police image maker, ASP Muhammad Jalige remarked that the command has reached out to its Nasarawa state counterparts over the development.

True! Consuming Rotten Tomatoes May Cause Liver Cancer

CLAIM: A Facebook user claims that the consumption of rotten tomatoes, popularly known as Esa in South-West Nigeria, can cause liver cancer.

VERDICT: The claim that the consumption of rotten tomatoes can cause liver cancer is true. The WHO noted that consuming mycotoxins found in rotten tomatoes can lead to long-term effects such as immune deficiency and cancer.

FULL STORY: A Facebook user, Adebisi Yusuff Adebayo, in a post, claimed that rotten tomatoes contain fungi which produce a toxin that may cause liver cancer.

According to the post, boiling and frying it does not help remove the fungi completely.

It reads: “Share with others who buy spoilt tomatoes. Spoilt tomatoes (what Yoruba called Esa) contain a fungi that produces a toxin that may cause liver cancer. Don’t buy it because it is cheaper.Again, another traditional ruler kidnapped in Kaduna
