Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Ondo state governor, has dissolved the state executive council with immediate effect.
The governor also terminated the appointments of all senior special assistants (SSAs) and special assistants (SAs).
In a statement on Wednesday, Ebenezer Adeniyan, his chief press secretary, said all members of the cabinet are to hand over to the permanent secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices.
“Also, all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) are also relieved of their duties, with immediate effect,” the statement reads.
“All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession.
“The Governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of the State.”
The development comes almost a month after Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as the governor of the state, following the death of Rotimi Akeredolu, the former governor.
Akeredolu died on December 27, 2023 after a protracted battle with prostate cancer.
