Post Date : May 25, 2022

The Imo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, has postponed its state House of Assembly/House of Representatives primaries which were supposed to hold on Wednesday at Kanu Nwankwo stadium in Owerri.

The State Publicity of PDP, Emenike Emeregini, confirmed this to newsmen in Owerri on Wednesday.

However, the postponement came as a shock to the members and delegates of the party who had thronged out to exercise their rights to elect their preferred candidates.

According to PDP, “The primaries for the aspirants of the state House of Assembly and House of Representatives have been postponed till tomorrow, 26th May 2022. The state chairman of the party said he did not want the election to be conducted in the middle of the night for security reasons.

“So, the primaries will start very early on Thursday and will end early so that delegates can go home early. so the reason simply was that the party does not want the election to be held at the night.”
