BREAKING: 17 dead, 58 abducted as terrorists invade three communities in Kaduna

Again, daredevil terrorists struck Kaduna, as no fewer than 17 people were killed, while 58 were feared kidnapped in an operation that lasted for 6 hours after the gunmen invaded three communities at Dawaki Ward in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A former Councilor of the Ward, Aminu Khalid, disclosed this in an interview with Journalists, saying that the three Villages affected included Ungwan Sako, Kunkurai, and Dokan Kaji Village.

According to him, some of the locals were able to rescue 20 Villagers in a gun duel, but 9 Villagers lost their lives in the process.

He said 34 of the locals are still in their custody after the attack on Tuesday night, as contact is yet to be established with the terrorists.

The Ex-Councillor lamented the constant attack on their communities by terrorists while calling on the military to intervene to save the people in the villages.

“The terrorists invaded these Communities on foot and took vantage positions at the same time. The terrorists always come from parts of Kajuru and Kachia forest where their camp is, adding the camp is situated at Dutsen Magunguna In Kajuru Local Government Area of the State,” Khalid said.

“Except for the Nigerian military raid the terrorist camp Communities situated around can never experience peace.”

Reacting to the attack by gunmen in three communities in the area, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mansir Hassan said that “presently our men in the area have not reported such incident to the headquarters here in Kaduna.

“I personally have made inquiries whether there was such incident. I called our area commanders in Southern Kaduna, there was no such report from them.”

Hassan also said that “if there was such attack, kidnapping and killings, it is the traditional rulers in that area that would first raised the issues. Up till now, there is nothing of such from them”.
