Local sources reportedly called the telephone lines of the aid workers upon learning of their abduction, and the abductors who answered the call, confirmed the killings, insisting that there would be more killings until Governor Samuel Ortom repealed the open grazing prohibition and ranching establishment law in the state.

Three bodies have been recovered by security forces who were accompanied by youths from the area.

Police spokesperson Sewuese Anene said she could not confirm the attack, but promised to provide details later.
