Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma on Tuesday, sworn in the new commissioners and special advisers designates into office.
Governor Uzodimma announced that he will be in charge of the ministry of lands as he noted that the ministry brought some of the skirmishes his administration faced in first term as he vowed never to allow a repeat.
The swearing-in ceremony which took place at the New state executive Council chambers, Government house Owerri on Tuesday, saw the new members of the State executive and their family members in attendance.
It was gathered that 24 Commissioners were sworn in to office alongside Special Advisers which includes that of the Deputy Governor. Uzodinma announced further appointments will be made in due course.
While swearing-in the new appointees, the Governor remarked that the process of appointments and swearing-in will still be ongoing to accommodate more people.
The Governor while congratulating the new appointees informed them that he will not entertain any form of excuses for performance even as he warned that the government will not tolerate any form of corruption by any of the new appointees.
The Governor also informed them that he has set up a new office domiciled in his office to checkmate their performance.
Hon. Ralph Nwosu retained his former portfolio as the commissioner for Works, while Hon. Declan Emelumba also retained his former portfolio as commissioner for information, Hon. Ruby Emele assigned to the Ministry of Local government and chieftancy affairs and Hon. Chimezie Amadi retained his former portfolio as commissioner for digital economy.
New Commissioners who were newly appointed into the state executive Council are; Hon. Bede Eke assigned commissioner for housing, Hon. Modestus Osakwe assigned to ministry of homeland security, Hon. Ikenga Elezieanya was assigned to the Ministry of Science/Technology while Hon. Ifeanyi Oruh was assigned to the ministry of rural development and empowerments.
