Bridgehead Elders’ Forum Asks Soludo To Probe Obinze

Anambra Governor, Ptof. Chukwuma Soludo has been asked to probe the activities and revenue accrued to the President of Bridgehead Markets Association, Mr. Sunday Obinze since 2015.

The Bridgehead Market Elders’ Forum, which made the call after its general meeting Tuesday also asked the Governor and relevant anti- corruption agencies such as Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to immediately set up a probe panel to investigate Obinze’s true sources of revenue.

Alleging corrupt practices against Obinze, the Bridgehead Elders’Forum said Obinze has been collecting stallage fees for N4, 800, full shop, sanitation levy, N4, 800, traders’ tax N3, 000, capitation fees,N500,
In one year, said the Elders’ group Obinze’s administration collects a whopping sum of N436, 500,000 but a paltry sum of N30m was paid to the State Government’s coffers

Consequently, the Bridgehead Elders’ Forum through its leadership, Chief Emeka Amyadike , chairman and Secretary, Mazi Chukwuka Iwedinobi, called on the Soludo Government to immediately institute a probe panel against Obinze.

They said there were other incidences of corruptions in Obinze’s administration chief among them were conspiracy with some former Government appointees to defraud State Government.

They also alleged that Chief Obinze had within few years built two (4) storey houses in Iyiowa Odekpe in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state among other traceable corrupt practices.
