The Commissioner of Police for Delta State, Ari Muhammed Ali has warned officers and men in the State Command to desist from all forms of corruption and incivility to members of the public.
The CP made the warning during an enlarged meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders and other Officers in the Command.
He maintained that the State Command under his watch will not tolerate such adding that some personnel have been put in place to check the activities of men posted to any operational duty post.
According to the police boss, any erring officer will be dealt with decisively. The CP cited the case of two offending officers who were dismissed recently as an example to all.
CP Ali then ordered that stop and search should be intensified, while constant raiding of black spots should also be sustained. Meanwhile, the operatives of Ovwian Aladja Division on Monday raided black spots in Ujvwu community.
PUNCH Metro learnt that suspects who gathered in a large number smoking Indian Hemp took to their heels on sighting the police.
The fleeing suspects were however chased by the operatives and two of them namely Godspower Alfred, 23, and Destiny Akwara, 34, were arrested and upon search, a locally made gun and substance suspected to be marijuana were recovered from them.
In a similar development, on Sunday night, at about 1030 pm, a patrol team attached to Ovwian Aladja Division while on stop and search duty intercepted a commercial bus carrying some passengers.
Upon a thorough search of the passengers, one locally made single barrel gun concealed in a bag of garri was recovered.
The suspect, one Pigi Kelvin, 40, was arrested and is presently been interrogated in connection with the recovery.
