Students of Ebonyi State University on Thursday blocked the Enugu-Abakaliki expressway in protest over poor infrastructure in the institution.
The protest follows an earlier outcry on social media by students of the institution who shared videos and claimed that at least two students have died due to suffocation while writing General Studies Program (GST) Exams.
According to the protesting students, the University had adopted the Computer Based Test (CBT) for some General Studies Program (GST) courses.
The GST are courses taken by all students of the institution irrespective of the department of faculty.

The students are therefore demanding that the school authorities scrap the Computer Based Test (CBT).
A representative of the school management and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Professor Happiness Oselebe promised to put on hold the Computer-Based Test and address other grievances by the student.
Also, Ebonyi State Deputy Governor Eric Igwe and Commissioner Of Police Garba Aliyu spoke with the protesting students and assured them that their demands will be addressed.
