The Imo state government on Tuesday began the demolition of Imo International Conference Centre located at the warehouse junction, Owerri, the state capital.
Our correspondent who visited the scene saw destruction equipments and officialst bringing down the structure.
The structure was built by the administration of a former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha, who now represents Imo West in the Senate.
While the equipment bring down the structure, armed security men together with youths were on ground.
When our correspondent contactedt Imo commissioner for information, Declan Emelumba said the structure was fast collapsing as it posed a great danger to the public, hence needs to be demolished.
