Elder statesman and chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Elders Council, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has said the South-East will soon undergo a massive industrial and economic revolution.
Iwuanyanwu disclosed this while addressing the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Worldwide who visited him in his office in Owerri.
He said this would be achieved in collaboration with the five states in the region and Ohanaeze. Iwuanyanwu said the revolution will not only lead to massive employment of the youths but will produce goods and services, improve the Gross Domestic Product(GDP) of the zone and also export some of the products to improve the Gross National Product (GNP) of Nigeria.
He said if many industries and production companies are established, youth restiveness will be curbed while crime will also reduce. Iwuanyanwu said: “I’m proud to be an Igboman because Ndigbo have a proud heritage. How the Igboman rose to be where he is today stunned his neighbours and the world.”
He called for the restructuring of the country, pointing out unless the country is restructured, peace, unity and development would not be achieved.
According to him, restructuring is very important for the country to move forward.
The National Assistant Youth Leader of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth, Mr Wenceskus Ogbonnia, said they decided to visit Iwuanyanwu to thank him for all he has been doing for the Igbo nation and his continuous struggle to ensure emancipation of the youths
