Jonathan’s Cousin Abducted In Bayelsa Speaks From Shallow Grave

Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, Mike Ogiasa, has been filmed speaking from a shallow grave.

In the video which has since gone viral, Ogiasa was seen pleading for his safe release from the abductors’ den.

Ogiasa, who was Commissioner for Special Duties in Bayelsa State, was kidnapped on June 2, 2022, from his home in Otuabadi, Ogbia Local Government Area of the State.

The video, which was released by unknown persons, showed Ogiasa in a grave in an unknown area, while his head was covered with a black polythene bag, with his two hands tied.

Ogiasa, who sounded scared for his life, was heard asking his family whether his life was not worth anything to them.

He pleaded that the ransom demanded by the abductors be paid to secure his release.

When contacted, the Police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, said efforts were being made to authenticate the​ video.

He added that security forces were intensifying efforts to ensure that the abducted politician was rescued unhurt.

He said the heads of security agencies met on Friday night to brainstorm new strategies to ensure he is rescued unhurt.
