Mob Lynch Security Operative Over Alleged Blasphemy

A group of irate youths has on Saturday lynched a security operative for reportedly making a blasphemous statement.

Reports says the security operative, a member of a vigilante group guarding the timber shed market at the Federal housing estate in Abuja, had with some of his colleagues attempted to arrest some residents wandering around the market in the early hours of Saturday.

Some of the residents said to be friends of the suspects were said to have begged the vigilance group to free them in the name of Allah but one of the vigilantes kicked saying he won’t listen even if God asked him to.

Unconfirmed reports says the deceased colleagues were among those that lynched him.

As at press time, normalcy has been restored by men of the police force.

This incident is coming few weeks after a mob in Sokoto lynched a Christian student, Deborah Samuel after she opposed the posting of Islamic messages on the school WhatsApp group.

The mob who are said to be her school mates had found her comment blasphemous thereby stoning and lynching her.
