Post Date : April 3, 2022

Today, some politicians who were voted into power by the people have become yokes like iron on the necks of the people. They parade themselves as demigods, even to an extent of adopting extremely undesirable lifestyle which suggests that you need to “cash out” monies belonging to the community, organization, or institutions of state to acquire more than enough material possession” to live.

These pseudo-leaders lack trust and credibility. Whereas, thought leaders are known to build trust, credibility and authority. Thought leaders are experts in the field while Pseudo-leaders are totally the opposite.

These and more were the focus on a one day seminar organized by a non governmental Organization, CHIDO FOUNDATION for the Youths ahead of 2023.

Delivering on a topic; *2023 and our readiness,* the Program Manager, of the organization Ms. Mmesoma Egbo
berates the non challant attitudes of the Youths.

She went further to state that anyone in a position of authority who cannot share his or her knowledge, or expertise with others, then the person is just a follower with a tittle.
According to Mmesoma, the outstanding characteristics of thought leaders is that they are eager to share their knowledge with others to benefit a company, organization, Community or cause.
Responding, some of the Youths expressed fear on the heightened political tension, civil unrest, ethnic and religious tensions, and inhuman acts of terrorism.

One of them, Ebuka Obetta challenged the Delegates to stand against allowing themselves to be manipulated as to push these fallacious individuals into corridors of power against the wishes of the Youth.

“The Youth will no longer play by the sideline” he reiterated.
Contrary to popular ideas and conclusions of many in some quarters, becoming a leader is not an opportunity to become the boss of others. Rather, it’s a privilege to serve: conscientiously, judiciously and sacrificially. If you are a leader, you are simply a SERVANT.

The CHIDO Foundation in collaboration with “Gburugburu is a Goal” used the opportunity to challenge the Youth Constituency to get their permanent voters card as 2023 indeed will not be business as usual.
