After long uncertainties, the People’s Democratic Party, Imo State chapter finally concluded it’s State House of Assembly and House of Representatives primaries elections.
Recall that the party had on Wednesday postponed the exercise till Thursday.
A serving lawmaker Representing Oru East/Orlu/Orsu federal constituency, Jerry Alagbaoso lost a bid to go the senate after Jones Onyereri clinched the Imo West Senatorial district ticket.
Also, the current Senator for Imo East senatorial district, Ezenwa Onyewuchi lost to Uche Onyeagucha.
The spokesperson for Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Ikenga Ugochinyere Imo won the PDP House of Representatives PDP ticket for Ideato North/Ideato South federal constituency.
Uju Kingsley Chima and Emeka Chinedu remained the PDP’s candidates in Oguta/Ohaji-Egbema/Oru West and Ezinihite and Ahiazu Mbaise federal constituencies respectively. While Ugnna Ozurigbo won the ticket for Nkwere/Njaba/Nwangele/Isu federal constituency.
No woman won any of the 40 seats, ranging from three Senate tickets, ten House of representatives seats and 27 house of Assembly primaries that were just concluded.
