The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has convened an emergency session of the House less than 24 hours before the transition to a new administration after eight years of President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to DAILY POST, the lawmakers will convene by 1 pm.
The agenda for the emergency session has not been disclosed yet.
The newspaper reports that the session could be for the purpose of amending the CBN Act, which the Senate passed on Saturday.
President Buhari is believed to be seeking means to resolve the N23.7 trillion ways and means loan from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Earlier, both chambers gave the nod to securitising the loan by converting it to bond.
The House, however, has become unpredictable in the past couple of weeks due to the ongoing fight between Gbajabiamila and his deputy, Idris Wase.
The duo of Gbajabiamila and Wase had a public spat on Wednesday over the sitting of the House, as the former continues to prevent the convening of the House in his absence amid speculation of impeachment.
Wase, one of the candidates for the speakership, is believed to be angry with Gbajabiamila for endorsing Tajudeen Abbas as Speaker for the incoming 10th House of Representatives.
