A report has emerged on what transpired between various traditional monarchs and the interim management committee chairman (IMC) of Njaba LGA before the unknown gunmen struck
Recall that gunmen had on Tuesday shot and killed two traditional rulers having meeting at Nnenasa in Njaba LGA of Imo state.

Secretary Traditional Institution & Community Policing, Njaba LGA revealed this in a letter he wrote to Imo gov, Hope Uzodimma .
The letter reads, “the above subject matter refers Sir. I write to inform your Excellency about what transpired while we were having our meeting with the IMC Chairman, Hon. Emeka Iheanacho on Tuesday 19th October, 2021
“Our meeting was almost at the concluding stage when about the right side of Three O’ clock in the afternoon, while the IMC Chairman, Mr. Emeka Iheanacho was addressing the Ezes, we had gun shots coming from outside the Traditional Rulers Banquet Hall and all of a sudden, these gunmen numbering about 5 and 6 started shooting sporadically inside the hall and before you know it, they have killed tow traditional rulers HRH Eze Anayao Durueburuo of Okwudor autonomous community and HRH Eze Samson Osunwa of Ihebionowere autonomous community.
“Some other traditional rulers and drivers were also shot and are receiving treatmemt in various hospitals now.
“The meeting also had in attendance Mrs. Ngozi Chuks Njoku, the Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS), Mr. Modestus Okafor, the state Area Information Officer for Orlu zone and one Mr. Ugonna, the Local Government Information Officer for Njaba. It will interest you to note Sir that the police were initially posted at the Council Premises but left before the Traditional Rulers’ meeting started.
“Your Excellency Sir, the event of yesterday is something the entire Njaba LGA Traditional Institution and Community Policing will not wish any race or humanity. We wish to use this medium to appeal t your Excellency to come to the aid of Njaba Traditional Institution and Community Policing to make sure the wounded hospitalized Ezes are given adequate treatment and urge you Sir to beef up security in Njaba L.G.A.
“We count on your usual cooperation in this regard, “it stated.
