Sit-at-home: Tension as IPOB’s ESN threatens Anambra community

There is tension in Ukwulu, Dunukofia local government area of Anambra State following a threat of attack by the Eastern Security Network (ESN) over alleged non- compliance with sit-at-home order.

ESN is the security outfit belonging to the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB)

The warning was pasted in the early hours of Sunday in the community with the group warning residents to be on the lookout over possible attacks for disobeying IPOB order

The notice reads: “Respect yourself Ukwulu about sit at home, to avoid crying had I known. We are watching you since, and you people are disobeying us because of dead Nigeria.

“From Monday upwards, disobey us again and have yourself (sic) blamed. ESN is coming for you.”

The Nation gathered the notice placed sent jitters down the spines of the residents of the area and neighbouring communities.

But Anambra Police spokesman Ikenga Tochukwu told The Nation the Command had deployed enough security to the area to forestall any possible attack in the area

Ikenga, a Deputy Supritendent of Police DSP, said: “The Commissioner of police, CP Echeng Eworo, has deployed police reinforcement team to Ukwulu community”

Ikenga further said the Command had beamed its searchlight on the community, adding that the situation was being observed.
