Truck Crushes Two Persons To Death In Anambra

The Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra state sector command says two persons have been sent to untimely grave following a fatal road traffic crash which occurred on Tuesday at Ogbunike near Onitsha in Anambra state.
FRSC boss in the state Mr. Adeoye Irelewuyi who commiserated with the families of the dead accident victims, emphasized the need for motorists to ensure that vehicles are in good shape before they hit the road especially in this festive season.
The sector commander’s position which is contained in the First Information Report on the fatal crash as compiled by the acting Sector Public Education Officer Margret Onabe, also assured the motoring public in Anambra that the Federal Road Safety Corps will continue to work ceaselessly to ensure that there are no traffic crisis on the roads even as the command intensifies education on safe and defensive driving.
The FIR report reads, “A fatal road traffic crash occurred at Ogbunike hill by slaughter, by Onitsha-Awka expressway today 7th December, 2021. The crash was between two vehicles.
“An unidentified driver of a red (Howo Tipper) with no registration number and unidentified driver of an Ash Toyota Corolla with registration number: HTE 365 CU.
“The probable cause of the fatal crash was attributed to Road Obstruction (OBS) and excessive speed.
“According to an eyewitness report, the tipper developed fault on the road and the Toyota Corolla rammed into the Tipper from the rear and crashed.
“Four male adults were involved in the crash. Two male adults killed. Two male adult came out unhurt. The dead Victims were taken by their families.
“However, the FRSC rescue team are on ground controlling traffic. Aggressive crowd are also on ground attempting to burn the truck involved.”
