Dave Umahi, Ebonyi governor, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) does not need logistics support — but votes — from Rivers state.
Umahi said this on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Akpabu-Itu-Omudiogha-Egbeda road in Emohua LGA in Rivers state.
On Monday, Wike promised to give Rabiu Kwankwaso, presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), logistics support for his campaign in the state.
Wike had also promised to give Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), logistics support for his campaign in the state.
While speaking at the event, Umahi said for Bola Tinubu, APC presidential candidate, what the party needs is the support of Rivers in terms of votes.
“Here, you are 99 percent in control because of what you’re doing for the people. And I want to commend you. And I thank you for not putting any kobo in Ebonyi again,” Umahi said.
“In Ebonyi, I’m also the same way, because I have worked. So, there is no other party in Ebonyi; it’s only APC. And we don’t do sentiments. Our votes in Ebonyi will go to APC, will go to asiwaju.
“Your excellency, my party, APC, we don’t need logistics. We’ve seen the presidential candidates come here and you are a doer of promise. And when you say you’ll give logistics support, we know you will.
“But you see, APC, we don’t need logistics support; we need votes — just for the presidential one. I will not ask what is impossible. So, that presidential one, keep it for asiwaju.”
