Governors of the six states in the North East have held a closed-door session of their forum’s sixth meeting in Damaturu, Yobe State capital.
The meeting, led by Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, Chairman of the North East Governors Forum, was hosted by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe.

The chairman called on the military to intensify operations to free the zone of terror.
“I want to call on the Nigerian military to reach the enclaves of the insurgents (those who are not ready to lay down their arms).
“We must pursue them. For us to get rid of this crisis, we have to ensure that the remnants of the insurgents are pursued to their enclaves and neutralized,” Zulum said.
He said unless Boko Haram is brought to an end, there will be impediments to the overall growth and development of all the six states.
In his welcome address, Governor Mai Mala Buni affirmed his commitment to the objectives of the forum.
