Antichrist will be introduced through World Cup —Evangelist Funmilayo ‘Mummy GO’

The founder of Rapture Proclaimer Evangelical Church of God, Evangelist Funmilayo Adebayo, has said the Antichrist will be introduced to the world through the football tournament known as World Cup. Evangelist Funmilayo, referred to as Mummy G.O by some social media users, said this while addressing a sermon in which she said footballers will go to hellfire. Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, she said she’s not the only one that holds the opinion. “I’m not the only person who said that. We have people from Ghana who also said the same. Even white men said it too. Just go on Google, search for the god of soccer, it will be shown to you. Why didn’t I say the same about other sports? They just want to arouse every soccer lover against me. The event that will introduce the antichrist to the world will come through the World Cup,” she said. On how to make heaven, she said it has to do with obeying God, which is a difficult thing to do. “The only way to make heaven is the most difficult task on Earth and that is to obey God. The reason why I said it is the most difficult task is that obedience to God is the most painful thing. For example, there is a way we dress that we find appealing, some of which are seductive. Imagine Jesus saying you have to stop dressing in that manner before you can make heaven. Is that not difficult? Also, you have a girlfriend who understands you, gives you business ideas and is okay in every way. Sadly, you are a married man. When your wife nags about money, the girlfriend consoles you. Will it not be painful if you hear a sermon that warns against extra-marital affairs? 80 per cent of what we like are disliked by God. That is why obeying God is difficult,” she said.

Nigeria is not for a particular ethnic group alone. People of God Almighty should rise and talk in unison. They have started with Ejike Mbaka. “We wish to commend men and women of God who devoted their precious time and energy to pray for the protection of our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has been incarcerated in the DSS custody in Abuja since June 2021. “The prayers of these men of God have turned Nigeria and its leadership into confusion since the beginning of this year 2022. We discovered that this ethnic group controlling the Federal Government of Nigeria and its security agencies are confused as a result of the intense prayers of these men of God including Rev. Fr. Ejikeme Mbaka of Adoration Ministries and Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, popularly known as Fr. Ebube Mmunso in Idemili, Anambra State.”

Police Arrest Woman Taking Daughters To Bandits For Sex

The Intelligence Response Team (IRT), a special police unit fighting kidnapping, has arrested a woman who allegedly supplies women to bandits at Galadimawa forest in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Maryam Abubakar, a housewife and resident of Rugar Hanwa in Sabon Gari Local Government, who was arrested on December 21, confessed that she had been luring women, including her own daughters and nieces, to the bandits for sexual pleasure. Maryam said her clients were paying her N20,000 and that the women were being ferried to the forest on motorbikes. Also arrested was a girl named Fatima Jibril, who, in connivance with her boyfriend, Muslim Abubakar, both residents of the Sakadadi area in Sabon Gari, had also been supplying women to the bandits. The syndicate was exposed when the girls they had earlier procured from the criminals in the forest couldn’t return. Another woman, Jummai Ibrahim, was arrested on the suspicion that she had been engaging in an affair with the bandits’ kingpin in the forest. Ibrahim said she submitted herself to the bandits’ kingpin to protect her children and her father from their wraths because the bandits threatened to kill them, even after they had rustled the family’s cattle. Some of the women said they had passed the night only once with the bandits. One of them said the gunmen were living alongside their wives, only that they are hosted at different locations separate from their families. One of the girls said the gunmen had been inseparable from their guns round the clock and they were stockpiled with foodies. The arrested women were, however, remorseful for being in romance with the bandits in the forest. Most of the women told Daily Trust on Sunday that they, at least had secondary school education while some were making efforts to go to higher institutions.

Footballers, women who wear makeup won’t make heaven, claims Mummy G.O again

General Overseer, Rapture Proclaimer Evangelical Church of God, Evang. Funmilayo Adebayo, nicknamed Mummy G.O, has reiterated her claims that footballers and women who wear makeup will not make heaven. These doctrinal claims are part of her controversial sermons which have become a subject of debate on social media. The controversial ‘woman of God’ backed her claims with personal interpretations she said were based on the scriptures. In an interview with BBC Pidgin monitored by our reporter, she said: “On women wearing makeup, I did say so and that wasn’t the first time I said so. “I’ve travelled to many Islamic countries, you will never see their women wear anything that will open their bodies. Advertisement – “Even their air hostesses, the way they dress shows they fear God. “My stance against indecency would have been supported if it was said 50 years ago. “Then, no woman could enter a church without wearing a scarf. “The God that frowned against women not wearing scarves, has he travelled or changed? “A Muslim lady dare not enter a mosque without her head covered. “But because I preached an old message, I’ve suddenly become a criminal. The truth remains the truth even if it’s just one person saying it. “Thousands of callers have told me that God told them to stop using makeup if they want to make heaven. The Bible doesn’t support makeup. “Jezebel was the first woman to wear makeup in the Bible. “If they say my preaching is too hard, are people expecting me to say the way they dress to a nightclub is allowed in the church? “No woman shall wear what pertains to a man and no man shall wear what pertains to a woman. Speaking on her claim that footballers will not make heaven, she said: “I’m not the only person who said that. “We have people from Ghana who also said the same. Even white men said it too. “Just go on Google, search for the god of soccer, it will be shown to you. Why didn’t I say the same about other sports? “They just want to arouse every soccer lover against me. “The event that will introduce the antichrist to the world will come through the World Cup.”

SERAP sues Lawan, Gbajabiamila over ‘missing’ N4.1bn NASS funds

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has filed a lawsuit against the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan, and Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, over “their failure to probe, and to refer to appropriate anti-corruption agencies fresh allegations that N4.1bn of public money budgeted for the National Assembly is missing, misappropriated or stolen”. The suit followed the publication of the annual audited report for 2016 in which the Auditor-General of the Federation raised “concerns about alleged diversion and misappropriation of public funds and sought the recovery of any missing funds”. In the suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/1609/2021 filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja, SERAP is seeking, “an order of mandamus to direct and compel Dr Lawan and Mr Gbajabiamila to perform their constitutional oversight functions to promptly probe the allegations that fresh N4.1bn budgeted for the National Assembly may be missing.” In the suit, SERAP is arguing that “the National Assembly has legal and constitutional duties to prevent and combat corruption, as well as promote transparency and accountability in the management of public resources. “The National Assembly can only effectively perform its anti-corruption role if it can demonstrate exemplary leadership to probe the allegations of corruption and mismanagement involving the legislative body.” SERAP is also arguing that, “transparency and accountability in the management of public resources and wealth is essential for promoting development, people’s welfare and well-being, and their access to basic public services, as well as good governance and the rule of law.” SERAP is arguing that, “The failure of the National Assembly to promptly and thoroughly investigate, and to refer to appropriate anti-corruption agencies the allegations documented in the annual audited report for 2016 is a fundamental breach of the oversight and public interest duties imposed on the legislative body. “The National Assembly has no legally justifiable reason to refuse to investigate the allegations documented by the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation.” The suit was filed on behalf of SERAP by its lawyers Kolawole Oluwadare and Kehinde Oyewumi. No date has been fixed for the hearing of the suit.
