Former governor of Imo State and Senator representing Imo West Senatorial Zone, Senator Rochas Okorocha has called for a wholistic investigation into the murder of Alhaji Ahmed Gulak.

This is also as he urged politicians to shut up if they had nothing factual to say rather than politicize a sad sutuation.

The APC chieftain in strong terms condemned the murder of Gulak, describing his death as disheartening.

He regretted that politics has in recent time, been allowed to eat deep into the fabric of the nation’s life, so much that, when situations like the death of Gulak arise, leaders who should take charge and take responsibility would foot-drag in words and in action to appear politically correct.

Okorocha appealed to leaders and stakeholders, to always guard their utterances on sensitive issues, to avoid jeopardizing efforts being made by genuine leaders to stop the ugly story of insecurity in the country, adding that, leaders should show their commitment to the campaign against insecurity through their utterances, actions and where necessary, inactions.

He said: “There is no political capital to be made from the death of a compatriot. Any person or group seeking to advance their political gain through the death of Gulak is not only unpatriotic, but also heartless and ungodly.”

Senator Okorocha calls for a full scale investigation to unravel the motive or circumstances surrounding the killing of Gulak, adding that, the lnspector General of Police should take over the investigation to ensure that a thorough job is done.

On the current security crisis in Imo, Okorocha advised that where the use of force or force of arms has failed, diplomacy, dialogue and God-given wisdom should be deployed.
