The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the Lagos governorship election.
Sanwo-Olu was announced the winner of the election at a few minutes past 1am on Monday.
The Labour Party (LP), which had Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour as its governorship candidate, rejected the result.
Announcing the result at the Lagos headquarters of INEC, Oladiji Adenike, the returning officer for the election, said Sanwo-Olu polled 762,134 votes to win the election.
The LP came second with 312,329 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) trailed in third place with 62,449 votes.
A total of 1,182,620 voters were accredited, while 1,155,678 votes were valid.
With the INEC declaration, Sanwo-Olu has secured a second term as governor of Lagos.
