Journalist regains freedom after paying huge ransom to abductors in Imo

The Journalist working with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Gregory Mmaduakolam, who was kidnapped last Thursday in Owerri community, Imo State, has been released by his abductors.

He was released early Saturday, after a payment of huge ransom by his family, a source told our correspondent.

However, the source didn’t state the exact, amount paid as ransom to secure his release as at the time of this report.

Mmaduakolam was kidnapped on Thursday by the hoodlums at Irete in Owerri West council area where he went to inspect land.

Recall that the abductors had earlier called the family of Mr Mmaduakolam to demand a ransom of N50 million to secure his release.
