Robber stabs lady to death for refusing to release her phone in Imo

A lady simply identified as Esther has been stabbed to death for refusing to release her phon and other valuablese to an armed robber on Friday night.

It was gathered that the incident happened around Ogidi lodge at Bishop’s Court area in Owerri, Imo State.

The president of Bishop’s Court students alliance Comrade Paschal Oti confirmed this to crimefacts.news on Saturday afternoon.

Oti said the incident happened around 8pm when the deceased and her younger sister followed a lonely track road to make her hair.

He said, ” This is what happened and nothing else, they were stopped by a man who asked for their phones and other valuables but the elder sister(Esther) refused.

Speaking further, “the man stabbed both them. At first, the younger sister was able run away leaving her sister and the robber behind.

“When her younger sister returned back to the scene, she saw that her elder sister has been stabbed to death and the robber has fled.

Oti said that the matter has been reported to police that same night, adding that the lady’s corpse has been deposited in the mortuary at Specialist Hospital New Owerri.

Oti said the deceased is not a student of Imo State University IMSU but she lived in Bishop’s Court, students dominated area.

ALSO,, in a video of the annual Bishop’s Court congress held on Saturday, the alliance students president, Comrade Paschal Oti warned students to avoid lonely track roads. He equally warned them to avoid keeping late nights.

He assured them of improved security in the area in the coming days.

When Crimefacts.news contacted Imo police spokesperson, Mike Abattam for comments, he didn’t respond to or return calls as at time of filling this report.
