…Imo govt to appeal judgment
All Zenith bank branches in Owerri have been sealed after Ex Deputy Gov, Eze Madumere secured N1.9bn judgment against Imo govt
A source who do not want his name to be mentioned said that Industrial Court of Nigeria Imo State orders the sealing of all Zenith Bank branches in Owerri.
According to the source, this is as a result of non payment of full entitlements to Prince Eze Madumere as a sitting Deputy Governor, by Imo State Government.
It was gathered that the court ordered that all Zenith bank branches in Owerri which the Imo state government maintains an account with be sealed until it ( Zenith bank) obeys the garnish Order of payment of N1.9bn to Eze Madumere.
In delivering its judgment, the judge ordered an absolute garnishee Order of N1.9bn against Imo state government in favour of Eze Madumere and Ordered Zenith bank to comply with within 24 hours.
In a related development, our correspondent has learnt that Imo state government will appeal judgment ordering it to pay N1.9bn to a former deputy of the state, Eze Madumere, within 24 hours.
