Anambra commissioner, wife kidnapped

The Commissioner for Youths Development in Anambra State, Patrick Aghamba, and his wife have been allegedly kidnapped.

Details of the incident are still sketchy, but according to sources, the commissioner’s aide, whose name was given as ABK Offiah was killed in the process.

Though the incident has not been confirmed officially, our correspondent learnt that they were travelling to Abuja, when they were kidnapped along the way on Friday.

They were said to be travelling to Abuja to attend the wedding of the daughter of the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, Adaora, which is set to be held tomorrow (Saturday).

Efforts to reach the Anambra State police spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, proved abortive as he did not respond to several calls and messages to his telephone.
