BREAKING: Boko Haram attack another Chibok village

Following multiple attacks by Boko Haram terrorists in the Southern Borno Senatorial District, particularly in Damboa and Chibok, which resulted in the deaths of dozens and the destruction of churches and residential houses in Bamzir, Njilang, Shikarkir, and other communities, a fresh attack was reported in Yimirmugza village of Chibok, Vanguard reports.

An investigation has revealed that most of the 40 victims who were killed in Dumba riverine community of Baga, Kukawa local government area in Borno state, were dry season farmers from Gwoza local government area of Southern Borno Senatorial District, which is now witnessing a series of deadly Boko Haram attacks and looting of hard-earned agricultural produce by peasant and resilient farmers.

“We are much traumatised from the beginning of this year, as Boko Haram terrorists resurfaced and have been perpetrating serious casualties on our communities in Chibok and others,” the source said.

“It is by the grace of God Almighty that I and my family escaped and ran into the bush for safety as the armed insurgents invaded Yimirmugza village this evening.

“As it is for now, we have fled out of the village, but most of our people, including the aged ones, are still trapped in the ensuing sound of gunshots.

“It is only God Almighty who will determine the kind of devastation the attacks will infringe on those trapped right now.”

All efforts to get confirmation from the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Kenneth Daso, proved abortive at press time.
