Angry reactions have continued to trail the January 14 judgment on the March 9, 2019 Imo governorship election, delivered by Nigeria’s Supreme Court.
Crimefacts.news reports that the most recent seems to be the embarrassment of some Supreme Court judges who were booed inside a church at a function in Imo.
Four judges of the Supreme Court namely; Clara Ogunbiyi (Rtd), Kumai Akas, C. C. Nweze and Paul Galinje were Sunday booed by angry citizens at Umopara Nguru, Aboh Mbaise in Imo State.
They booing and cat calls erupted when the judges were introduced during Dr. John Kennedy Opara’s thanksgiving service at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Umopara Nguru, Aboh Mbaise in Imo State.
Opara was the former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission was visibly embarrassed by the treatment meted out on his guest but there was little or nothing he could do under the circumstance.
It is widely believed that the humiliation of the judges were apparent expressions of public discontent with the Justices of the apex court who have been in the eye of the storm following the recent controversial Supreme Court judgment which overturned the electoral mandate of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as Imo governor and declared Senator Hope Uzodinma the winner of the March 9, 2019 governorship election in the state under the All Progressive Congress (APC) platform.
Beside the fact that Uzodinma placed fourth position in the said election, there are multiple issues inconsistency with the judgment which appears to have left in its wake, more questions than answers for the people of Imo state and perhaps, all Nigerians.
