Tenant in prison for raping landlord’s 7 year old daughter

AN Iyaganku Family Court, on Tuesday in Ibadan yesterday remanded a tenant, Kareem Mojeed in Agodi Correctional facility for his alleged involvement in the defilement of his landlord’s seven-year-old daughter.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olabisi Ogunkanmi ordered that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP) for advice.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Gbemisola Adedeji, told the court that Mojeed allegedly committed the offence on July 21 at 5.00p.m. at Ebedi area of Ibadan.

Adedeji alleged that the tenant, Mojeed lured the girl into his room and thereafter defiled the innocent girl.

The offence, according to the police, contravenes the provisions of Section 34 of the Oyo State Child’s Rights Law, 2006.
