(Updated) Edo 2020: Obaseki leading Ize-Iyamu with over 28,000 votes — after 6 LGAs

Godwin Obaseki, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is leading Osagie Ize-Iyamu, his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival, in the Edo governorship election.

According to the results that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced so far, the PDP candidate is leading with over 28,000 votes.

As of 3:45am on Sunday, the commission had declared results in six local government areas.

The LGAs are:

Igueben

PDP: 7,870

APC: 5,199

Esan central

PDP: 10,964

APC: 6,719

Esan north-east

PDP: 13,579

APC: 6,559

Esan south-east

PDP: 10,565

APC: 9,237

Ikpoba Okha

PDP: 41,030

APC: 18,218

Owan east

APC: 19,295

PDP: 14,762

TOTAL

PDP: 98,500

APC: 69,821

Margin: 28,679

Results were still being collated across LGAs in the state as of the time of filing this report.
