High airfares: NCAA set up cost reduction committee

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, today, set up a committee to look into the high cost of airfares.

Acting Director General of NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo, said in a video press release posted on the Authority’s official X, formerly Twitter, handle.

Najomo said the committee is tasked with reducing cost.

He said: “It has come to the notice of this authority about an increase in the high cost of airfares, especially on international travels.

In view of trying to make sure that these airfares are brought down, I have decided to set up a high powered committee which will look at all the variances and how we can bring these airfares down. We’ve met with the airlines, other stakeholders and agencies to make sure that this is done.”
