Premium Times X account hacked

Premium Times, Nigeria’s investigative online newspaper, is working hard to regain its X account after it was hacked early Wednesday morning by a company marketing crypto.

In a phone chat with TheCable, Musukilu Mojeed, the editor-in-chief and chief operating officer, confirmed the incident and asked for the understanding of its 2.1 million followers as the newspaper intensifies efforts to regain control.

A company marketing crypto had posted before 4am Nigerian time that it was about to make an earth-shaking announcement.

It has continued to post messages since then, pining different posts within hours.

Since billionaire Elon Musk bought over the microblogging site, users have been complaining about the lengthy time it takes to resolve issues.

The tech giant has laid off a significant number of workers, especially in customer service and fact check departments.

Premium Times says it had contacted the help desk but the handle remained under the control of the hackers at the time of this report.
