There’s plan to eliminate doctors, others –Njemanze

There was unease among the doctors in Imo State as operatives from local government offices allegedly invaded their medical practices, asking them to fill certain forms. In this interview, Prof. Philip Njemanze, former Imo State Chairman of the Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN), offered insight on the issues in contention. On the face value at least, the form appears harmless. So, what exactly is the issue?  We do not think that the personal and biometric data such as passport photos, thumb print, phone numbers, relatives and home addresses are indices for any useful public interest research. These are data that evoke privacy concerns everywhere. The government knows that this data collection violates the right to privacy under Section 37 of the 1999 constitution. This constitutional breach is a very serious one and would be challenged in the courts under the Fundamental Human Rights violations if not abrogated immediately by government or any NGOs or development partners. We know that they are already in full breach of the constitution. They have a target to collect data on at least 30,000 Nigerian doctors but have until now about 8000. As it stands now, we are gathering data from those doctors who submitted their data, when they were deceptively threatened to be cited for non-compliance, and not fully aware of the disastrous implications. They hope to file a class action suit for several millions of US Dollars against the so-called development partners for the violations. Why would anyone seek to eliminate Nigerian medical personnel as alleged? Is the health sector so profitable to attract big international investors?   Talking about profit, it depends on who you ask. Nigeria holds the key to a 30 trillion US Dollar human organ cloning market when fully explored. I will explain some of the issues now. Since India and most countries in Asia closed their doors to poaching of human organs, the western countries have shifted to Africa and particularly Nigeria, because of the large population and high level of government corruption, to establish the new human organ trafficking market. As a bridge to maintain some cheap supply of human organs, the West, particularly Spain, allowed migration through the Libyan desert to reach Europe. It is not a surprise that Spain, who received the African migrants leads the world in human organ transplantation. The steady flow of African migrants provided a cheap source of organs for transplantation from supposedly people that died in capsized boats in the Mediterranean Sea, or made to capsize by the coastguards after their organs were poached. However, this is only but a trickle of the organs needed annually by western hospitals to satisfy the high demand. In the United States, about 113,000 people are awaiting transplantation each year. In Europe, about 86,000 are awaiting kidney transplantation. Just to meet the organ transplantation needs of western countries more than 200,000 otherwise healthy Nigerians may die yearly. In the United States, the economic cost just for heart failure patient was $38 billion in 2008, which could be saved annually for the lifetime after a heart transplant. Western governments and western billionaire investors have been in the search for new sources of human organs for transplantation. Furthermore, the prospect for human organ cloning using embryonic stem cell research has raised hopes for the future. The challenge is where and how to obtain at least 100 million ovarian eggs needed for human organ cloning annually. The destination is Nigeria, where they think that the people are uninformed and the government is too corrupt. The 100 million ovarian eggs will come from 10 million Nigerian women, who may die of complications of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), including liver failure, kidney failure, cancers and infertility, among others. Poaching ovarian eggs from any woman in the western countries is totally banned by law. The entire market on human organ cloning is valued at over 30 trillion USD, one-third of the world economy. This large economic benefit cut the attention of the world leading billionaires and the top western economies, as the new western renaissance. The foreign operators of the programme would need full control of the health system of Nigeria, there must not be any Nigerian eyewitness to any organ poaching incident in any of their 260 hospitals already commenced.  The Nigerians must be wiped out of the health sector both public and private, but could be left in some 10,000 primary health facilities to treat malaria and typhoid in local dwellers and refer the rest to the big hospitals ran by foreigners. Poaching of human organs is illegal in Nigeria? How can they operate legally?  You are not correct to say that poaching of organs is illegal in Nigeria. On the other hand, it is legal. The National Health Act (NHAct 2014 section 51) allows doctors to poach organs from Nigerians without consent as far as they declare that it was an emergency operation overriding the consent clause in Section 48. Doctors under the same law could collect the eggs of women without consent, since in Section 20 of NHAct the gametes are exempt as tissue and organs. The NHAct 2014 (Sections 43 and 45) also ensured that the government could completely replace all the Nigerian medical personnel at any public hospital with foreign experts. Nigeria is the only country in the world that has the provisions of law that allow the killing of her citizens, for the first time in the history of humanity. This atrocity is a crime against humanity by the 7th NASS. Not even in Nazi Germany was this practice legal, that a parliament passed a law that could legally kill the citizens of Germany, even when done, it was illegal. AGPMPN objected to these sections and pointed out all the pitfalls in a memorandum to the lawmakers at the public hearings and in petitions to President Goodluck Jonathan. However, under pressure from the Americans it was passed into law in Nigeria. According to Jonathan, he was under pressure directly

60 dead persons receiving salaries in Imo Secondary Education Management Board – Report

An audit report carried out by the authorities of the Imo State Secondary Education Management Board (IMSUBEB) has revealed that no fewer than 60 dead persons in the agency are still receiving salaries till date The report also shows that several persons who are 60 years and above the age of retirement are still drawing salary while more than 40 Staff of the agency who absconded from service are still payrolled. The shocking revelation was made at the weekend when the committee set up by the Imo State Government to look into its activities submitted its report to Governor Hope Uzodimma. Receiving the report, Governor Uzodimma lauded the agency for the courage to carry out the audit and encouraged other ministries and agencies of government to do likewise for the purpose of sanitizing the payroll system of the State. “No amount of distraction will deter government from completing the automation exercise. It is unfortunate that agents of opposition party keep trying to blackmail the government. Unfortunately, I will not allow them to have their way,” the Governor said. The Governor said his administration is committed to the payment of salary and emoluments of civil servants and pensioners and urged those yet to receive their pay to approach the relevant offices with the appropriate data so that they can be payrolled in line with the automation process. The governor however repeated the lie sold to the public by the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Mbadiwe Emelumba, which has been sufficiently discredited and discarded that leaders of the protesting pensioners like Collins Ohaneje has received his pension pay up till date.  The governor however did not refer to the protesting pensioners as “ghost pensioners” as was the case but rather pleaded with the pensioners who are yet to receive their pay to exercise patience as the government does not intend to leave any of them out who deserve to be paid.

I’m seeking justice for girl raped, impregnated by police sergeant in Ogun – Lawyer

An Ogun state-based lawyer, Abiodun Aboaba, has called on the police authorities to ensure that justice is done for a 17-year-old girl, (Names Withheld) who was allegedly raped and impregnated by a Police Sergeant, Innocent Yakubu. Aboaba, called for the dismissal and trial if the Police officer in a petition written and addressed to the Lagos State Police Commissioner. Yakubu, a police guard attached to a quarry company in Awa-Ijebu town in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State, had allegedly raped the said girl who was working as a maid to the Chief Executive Officer of the company, inJanuary 2020. The Police Seargent, who was reported to have threatened the victim with an AK47 rifle in order to have sex with her by force, was also alleged to have threatened to kill the victim if she tells anybody about the dastardly act. The rape victim who was said to be a virgin until the ugly incident, however, narrated her ordeal to her guardian, Alice Hugbo, when she discovered she was pregnant in June. The petition reads in part: “Around January 10, 2020, precisely 10.a.m, Sergeant Innocent Yakubu, entered the room of Blessing Asu and threatened her with AK 47 rifle, demanding to have sex with her by force. “The victim, fearing for her life, stopped screaming and Sergeant Innocent Yakubu violently raped her. After having unlawful carnal knowledge of her, Yakubu threatened to kill her if she ever reveals to anybody that he violently raped her. “The poor girl was introduced to sex in the most inhumane way ever by the suspect and started having nightmares immediately after the experience but however refused to disclose her ordeal to anyone. “It was until recently that her guardian, one Alice Hugbo, discovered that she was pregnant after noticing the changes in her body. It was when she was pressed for explanations that she summoned the courage to narrate her ordeal in the hands of Sergeant Innocent Yakubu. The medical report confirming she was raped and impregnated by Sergeant Innocent Yakubu was also enclosed in the petition to the Lagos state Police Commissioner. The lawyer noted that child rape in Nigeria has assumed an alarming dimension. Just like the Inspector General of Police, has been reported as saying that the Police has recorded about 717 rape incidents across the country between January and May, 2020. “We do not want this case to be part of the ugly statistic of unresolved and unprosecuted rape cases. We humbly urge your good office to investigate this matter and swiftly charge the accused to court”, the lawyer prayed. The lawyer, however, commended the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, in charge of Zone 2, Ahmed Iliyasu and Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, for their professionalism in speedily fishing out the suspect.

We’ll take your message to the Governor as an experienced and a well exposed man. So I’m happy for you. Keep it up”. “When you’re good you’re not afraid of competition. Yes, when you’re good the sky is your limit. People with your intellectual capacity should be part of the new foundation Uzodimma is building for Ndi Imo,” adding that history will vindicate the Governor. He assured the people of Okigwe Zone that the Governor did not wish to impose any senator on them. Nlemigbo commended Uzodimma for breaking the planned dynasty that was foisted on the state by the Rochas Okorocha administration, saying that Uzodimma had given Imo people a sense of belonging again. The governor’s statement was not unconnected with media reports credited to the Speaker of the house, Francis Okiye . Edo Guber: Uzodimma plotting to unleash violence in Edo – Okiye

The Edo state House of Assembly Speaker, Francis Okiye has accused Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma of plotting to unleash violence in Edo state. He said this  while briefing newsmen in Benin, the Edo state capital. After the impeachment of his deputy speaker, Rt.Hon.Yekini Idaiye, told journalists that there were plots by the Vice-Chairman of the APC Campaign Council, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State to cause a crisis in the state by installing a parallel House of Assembly and make the impeached Deputy Speaker, Francis Okiye said that Idiaye with the sixteen lawmakers which included the members who have not been inaugurated and those who have been inaugurated but have refused to decamp with Governor Godwin Obaseki and publicly endorsed Ize-Iyamu. He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to call the governor and other APC stakeholders to order on the alleged plot which he said was capable of creating a crisis in the state. He said; “The state’s polity is already heated by the high political tension from the electioneering campaigns. Their planned action is akin to lightening a match in an already tensed political environment, which conflagration is capable of causing a crisis in the state, and of a scale beyond our imagination. “We urge lovers of democracy across the world, institutions that uphold democratic tenets and values, pro-democracy groups, to denounce this planned illegality that seeks to distract a duly constituted authority. “We recognize the constitutional right of the three members of the House of Assembly to support the candidate of their choice, but that should not distract them from coming to work to carry out the job they were elected for.” Reacting to the allegations by the Edo state speaker ,Commissioner for Special Projects of Imo State, Comrade Simon Ebegbulem denied the allegation against his boss saying the house was in the first place illegally inaugurated just as he said all his principal is interested in is to reclaim Edo state back to APC. He said: “The illegal Speaker and his governor are not making sense to me with this baseless allegation. I don’t even know what they are talking about because there is no House of Assembly in Edo state. I think that is why the so-called Speaker is running away from his shadow like a criminal that will always run once he sees a law enforcement agent. “However, I don’t know why he should draw the leg of His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodinma into his political problems. My Governor is interested in working with other APC governors and stakeholders to reclaim Edo State which has been an APC state before Governor Obaseki donated it to the PDP. “The illegal Speaker and his principal are already jittery because of the imminent defeat in the coming September election. You can see that his aides are resigning everyday including his Deputy Speaker. Now he is left with five lawmakers and does that show that he is in charge?”
