85-yr-old man arrested for defiling 4-yr-old girl in Nasarawa

85-year-old man Ibrahim Haruna has been arrested by the Nigerian Security Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC for an alleged rape of a four-year-old girl.
The incident occurred in the Kongo community of Keffi local government council of the state.
The Corps Public Relations Officer Jerry Victor made this known at a press briefing in Lafia the state capital.

The PRO narrated that the elder sister of the victim raised the alarm when she discovered the little girl was walking with discomfort and blood dripping from her legs.

According to Mr Jerry, the sister sought to know what was wrong with the little girl who then explained her ordeal at the hands of the elderly suspect.
He further alleged that the suspect lured the little girl into his room when there was nobody around which allowed him to perpetrate the act.
Mr Jerry Victor who presented a Medical Report before journalists said a medical Test was conducted and it was confirmed that the little girl had been defiled..
The command’s spokesman announced that the case would be handed over to the state ministry of justice after an investigation for speedy trial.
In an interview, 85-year-old Ibrahim Haruna denied the allegation and said it was a frame-up.
Findings revealed that the parents of the four-year-old victim and the suspected elderly man were neighbours.
Meanwhile, three suspected cult members have been arrested by the Nasarawa state command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for allegedly causing destruction and harassment of residents of Layin Yan Kaji and Super Cinema street within Lafia the state capital.

The command’s spokesman in the state expressed the commitment of the Corps to reduce crime and vandalism of public and private infrastructure to the barest minimum across the state.
Items recovered from the suspected cultists include two locally made pistols, live cartridges and Ammunitions, phone pliers and scissors.

It could be recalled last year December during the yuletide, there was a suspected cult clash between rival gangs that led to the destruction of six vehicles and the burning of one motorcycle at Layin Kaji and Super Cinema streets in the Lafia metropolis.
