Bandits abduct 61 in fresh attack on Southern Kaduna

 

Again, about 61 locals were reportedly abducted by bandits in Buda community, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Monday.

According to a survivor, men, women, and children, including a nursing mother of two weeks, were among the abductees.

“The situation is devastating because we have not heard from them since the incident happened on Monday. We’re appealing to the government to take action and ensure their return immediately,” he cried.

There was no reaction from the police as at time of this report. However, the local explained that the bandits raided the community in large number and shot sporadically.

He appealed to the authorities to deploy more security personnel in the area, saying “my siblings were part of those abducted and based on the information available as of this morning, the bandits with their victims are yet to get to their destination.”

Vanguard had reported how Bandits attacked the Kuriga community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and kidnapped over 200 students including some teachers at the LEA Primary School Kuriga, while they were concluding the morning assembly.

According to a local who craved anonymity, ” the incident happened in the morning at about 8. 30 am when the students were about to conclude the morning assembly. The bandits came from different parts of the village and encircled the school premises.”

”The bandits kidnapped over 200 students, both primary pupils and secondary school students who were moved from a location outside the community to the primary school due to the fear of bandits attack.”
