Suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked the Jakana Police Station in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, killing two people and burning police vehicles.
The terrorists, who struck at 1 a.m. on Sunday, killed a police driver and a female civilian, and also set two police vehicles and a motorcycle ablaze.
The Executive Chairman of Konduga Council Area, Abbas Ali Abari, confirmed the incident but did not provide details of the casualties.
Sunday Tribune gathered that the terrorists seized arms and ammunition from the police station after overpowering the security operatives on duty.
The attack lasted for three hours, ending at 3 a.m., during which the terrorists damaged the police facility before fleeing.
Jakana, a town located 45 kilometers from Maiduguri, has been a frequent target of Boko Haram attacks, but this latest incident has raised fresh concerns about the security situation in the state, where Boko Haram has been active.
