The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested 81-year-old Adeleke Oke and two others, Sikiru Lawal (37) and Moshood Suleiman Ayinde (37), for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Offa, Offa Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Corps, Ayoola Michael, on Thursday, the suspects were apprehended on Sunday, September 1, 2024, following a report lodged by the victim’s father at the NSCDC Offa Division.
The statement, which mentioned that the case had been transferred to the Gender Unit of the command for further investigation, added that preliminary findings revealed that the three suspects had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor on different occasions and threatened her not to reveal the illicit acts to anyone.
“Furthermore, a detailed medical examination confirmed that the victim’s hymen was ruptured, providing clear evidence of repeated sexual penetration.”
The suspects confessed to the crime and will be charged in court for onward prosecution.
The NSCDC State Commandant, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, strongly condemned the despicable act and urged the good people of the state to partner with the Corps in its efforts to combat defilement, rape, and other sexual offenses.
